Cleared. Deputy City Attorney Stefanie Boster of Fort Collins found no violation, because neither the Instagram account nor the book group was conducted in her official capacity. The process allows the council to impose sanctions once findings are in, up to and including a motion of censure — so the mechanism existed and went unused, because there was nothing to sanction. Mark Wallach and Matt Benjamin issued a joint statement accusing her of a “troubling pattern” of social media activity and saying two Instagram posts “crossed a serious line into antisemitism,” which they called “a modern form of antisemitism” relying on “double standards, dog whistles and coded messages.” She rejected it the same day as misinformation.
